Board-certified family medicine physician Mai Vi Hoang, MD, offers outstanding primary care to patients at HAPI Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she is the medical director. Dr. Hoang speaks fluent Vietnamese and English and provides culturally compassionate expert care to the underserved and underrepresented Asian and Pacific Islander communities in Las Vegas.

After graduating from Seattle University in Seattle, Washington, with a bachelor’s degree in biological science, Dr. Hoang earned her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Sint Maarten, Netherland Antilles. She then completed her residency at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California, affiliated with the University of California, Davis School of Medicine.

Dr. Hoang has extensive experience caring for acutely ill patients. She has been a hospitalist at the level 2 trauma hospital Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, since 2015. In 2022, Dr. Hoang received the prestigious Commonspirit Health Human Kindness Award for her exemplary work and compassionate care.

Her interest in teaching inspired Dr. Hoang to serve as a medical student and family medicine resident coordinator for her hospitalist group. She is now taking on the role of associate teaching internal medicine residency attending physicians at St. Joseph Medical Center.

Dr. Hoang is also an expert in diabetes who’s undergone advanced diabetes management certification training. She brings all these areas of expertise to her work at HAPI Medical Center.
